The bulk of the work is ours. Your team only appears where it's needed.
What stalls these projects is almost never the budget: it's not having time to take one on. So the split of effort is designed this way from the start.
The first meeting
Your time: 1 hour
You tell us which report eats the most time each month, which systems the data comes from and who builds it today. With that we'll tell you whether it fits, what we'd do first and what's needed before a price can be fixed.
You leave with our opinion, whether you hire us or not. If we don't think you need us, we'll say so.
In-depth assessment
Your time: depends on scope
When the scope can't be pinned down in a conversation, we analyse it properly and hand you a plan: what to automate, in what order, with a fixed price for each report.
It's the only assessment we charge for, we tell you before it becomes necessary, and it's deducted in full if you then hire the build.
The proposal
Your time: none
We send you in writing exactly which report, with which fields, in what timeline and at what price. No small print and no conditions appearing halfway through.
All we need from you is read access to the sources. If that has to be arranged with your IT person or provider, we deal with them directly.
Connection and model
Your time: none
We connect your sources and build the data model. We do this part without bothering you: your team carries on and your ERP keeps working exactly as it does today.
We read from your systems, we don't write to them. We never touch production data.
First version and reviews
Your time: 1 hour per round
We show you the report running and compare its figures against your last close, one by one. If something doesn't add up, it shows here and it's fixed here.
You tell us what's missing, what's superfluous and what's badly named. Two rounds of review are included: one to correct and one to confirm.
Delivery and handover
Your time: 1 hour
We leave the report refreshing itself, hand it over in a session walking through how it works and where each figure comes from, and deliver the documentation of how everything is built.
From here you don't depend on us. If you'd like your team to learn to build its own reports, training is contracted separately. And if you'd rather we keep looking after it, there's monthly maintenance with no lock-in.
And how long does all this take?
It depends on the project, and we won't promise a number we can't stand behind. Some reports are done in a couple of weeks and some projects — one undocumented database is enough — are months of work. What we always do is fix the timeline in writing in the proposal, before starting, and warn you as soon as anything could move it.
Why you won't see client logos
The company is new; the craft isn't. Much of the work of recent years was done inside companies and under confidentiality agreements, so we're not going to hang logos or figures here that aren't ours to publish.
What you can check before hiring anyone is exactly how we work and what you'll receive. And in the portfolio there are examples of the report format we deliver, built with fictional data.
See report examplesWhat you won't find here
- Invented testimonials or clients who don't exist
- Result figures we can't back up
- Borrowed logos from projects we can't name
- Prices invented to fill in a table
In exchange: a bounded scope, a fixed price in writing and a first meeting of one hour that costs you nothing.
